How to Use
How To Print
The preferred method is to generate a .gcode file with cura (see Printing with Cura)
- Check the bed is clean. The bed is covered with PEI sheet and merely needs to be clean for good adhesion with ABS and PLA. Wipe down with Isopropyl alcohol frequently.
- Turn on the printer by the big red switch on the front.
- You may want to pre-heat the printer now. The menu system is operated by pressing and rotating the wheel, you want Click -> Prepare -> Preheat ABS (or PLA).
- Put your *.gcode toolpath file generated earlier on an SD card and load it into the left side of the LCD display, there is an SD card provided.
- Click -> Print from SD -> Your_File.gcode.
- Connect the cura equipped laptop to the printer's USB port
- In Cura click Control then Connect then print (see Printing with Cura for details)
- Clear any extrudate from the stainless steel nozzle.
- Watch the levelling process to make sure the nozzle only "kisses" the corner washers. If the head/nozzle mashes the bed down and causes it to push the bed down more than 1mm in it's first (quick) touch then the nozzle is likely not sufficiently clean and the levelling procedure will be incorrect RESULTING IN POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE BED OR TOOL HEAD. It is an electrical connection so a quick clean of the nozzle with the metal brush in the toolkit should suffice. then re-start the job and the levelling should complete successfully
Now sit back and enjoy your print. Turn the power supply and printer off when you are done.
If you need to stop Taz
- Click -> Stop Print.
- Click -> Prepare -> Cooldown.
- Click -> Prepare -> Disable Steppers. Then pull the bed forward by hand.
If you are unsure, just turn the Power Supply off and look for someone who can help. Don't leave the hot nozzle touching the bed if you can avoid it.
