The Raspberry Pi is a small credit card sized embedded Linux based computer which was created by Eben Upton to promote the teaching of computer science in schools. It has been adopted by the hacker/maker community as an extremely useful tool capable of easy hardware interfacing and with low power consumption.

More information can be found on the Raspberry Pi on the official website here.

Our IRC bot SMIB runs on a Raspberry Pi at the makerspace and has a webcam hooked up to it for security.

We also have some other projects using or planning to use the Raspberry Pi such as the spaces 3D Printer and James's rover project
